Our Wonderful Retirees
Cody
Cody is a 12 year old Quarter Horse and is here due to Navicular problems. Cody was born in the wrong body and should have been born a Labrador. Cody waits at the gate, as you are leaving, with a look of "just take me in the house and we'll cuddle on the couch and watch TV." A total people person-type horse.
Goldie is 22 and was brought here due to suspensory problems. Goldie is the "King of the Mares" and wins over every girl's heart.
Rest in Peace sweet Minxie.
Minxie was once a model for Hobby Horse and she had a Diva personality to prove it! Minxie was 25 when she was laid to rest at Paradise Acres. She is very deeply missed by the staff and her pasture mates.
Sabian is 18 and he is a 18 hand-high bundle of a teddy bear.
Sabian came to us after a Eucalyptus Tree fell onto his stall and crushed him. He sustained some brain damage and it took him a week in Intensive Care at UC Davis just to learn how to drink again. Sabian was brought to us, temporarily, so he could have room to move around to help him regain his balance. But he loves it here so much that his owner decided to let him stay! I am proud to say that Sabian now gallops through his pasture with exquisite beauty.
Doyle
Doyle is 21 years young and LOVES to eat. He is the
first one in his stall in the mornings to greet me for breakfast. He is the smartest horse I have ever seen and I swear he can understand everything you say. He is simply amazing.
Lazarus,
aka Laz. aka Laz Mataz.
Mr. Mataz is a 21 year old Hanoverian and has earned a life of retirement after being a wonderful and successful Drassage Horse. Laz refuses to act his age and often initiates a group "let's race" challenge.
Levant
aka Punky, aka Punk-a-Dunk
Punky is 13. Punky's Papa is in the Navy and will be stationed in Guam for two years so Punky will stay with us while his mom & dad are there. Punky is a bundle of energy and loves to run. He has brought new life to Goldie and Sabian's pasture.

The Girls:
Rady 20+ (my retired mare)
This girl has seen me through a few tears and has brought me so much happiness in our 18 years together. She is the roll model for why we want our beloved horses to spend the rest of their days at a place like this. She is "that one special horse that can never be duplicated."
Sym Sym Serene 22
Symmie has moved to the East Coast to be with her mama, Jennifer. She was Jenn's first horse and they have the most adorable pictures of them together when Jenn was a teenager. Jenn is now a successful instructor with her own green pastures for Symmie to lounge in all day. We sure miss that Mare Mare though :0(
D' Eclaire 24
Claire Bear has been a wonderful broodmare and has produced beautiful Dressage babies. She is enjoying her child-less retirement here and is in love with the very handsome Odysseus (above). She is a talker and I wish I knew how to speak Horse so I could understand what she says to all the others here. She is an endless Nicker Machine.

Bubba is my personal horse
(he's not fat, he's big boned ;0)
Odysseus
aka Odie
Odie is our latest retiree and he is in LOVE with the girl next door, Claire. They spend their days eating side by side, even though they are separated by a fence. You can't stop love! And as you can see, he is so handsome, how could a girl resist?
Topper is my personal youngster as well
The love of Brittney's life
